Tax Senior

High-impact seat with a small, privately held Kalamazoo firm where great accountants don’t just deliver projects — they help shape futures.

This is a hands-on role for a tax professional who wants to be a true strategic advisor, not just a compliance provider. You’ll prepare and review complex returns, deepen client relationships, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with a tight-knit team that brings 140+ years of combined public accounting experience. The firm blends traditional tax work with forward-looking planning across wealth management, estate strategy, business consulting, and succession — giving you a real seat at the table with high-net-worth individuals and business owners.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns.
• Review and sign tax returns as part of the engagement team.
• Build and deepen client relationships through proactive communication and service.
• Handle payroll processing and file quarterly/annual payroll tax reports.
• Conduct bookkeeping and general accounting functions as needed.
• Partner with senior leaders to deliver integrated tax, planning, and advisory work.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive tax experience (5 years preferred).
• CPA or Enrolled Agent — required.
• Strong client-service instincts and clear, proactive communication.
• A collaborative, team-first mindset and willingness to mentor more junior staff.
• Ties to Kalamazoo / Southwest Michigan (preferred).
